Teacher’s Practice: Specific Conditions & Creative Solutions
From day one, Iyengar teachers are taught asana modifications that can help us on our yoga journey. But, it isn’t always easy to pull out the right tool at the right time – especially in the middle of a regular class. This series will give you tools for investigation that you can draw upon when you need it most.
This series is designed to address the needs of teachers and teachers-in-training who want to develop their skills and practice in community. Each class will start with a structured approach to the given theme and then go into individual, partnered and group exercises to help progress your skills as a teacher.
Each class will be structured around a theme, special condition or part of the body. We will use the time to explore tools and techniques as well as share real-life issues and creative solutions. We will practice hands on adjustments and modifications, and how to help individual students while keeping the rest of the class on track.
This class is open to CIYT and teachers-in-training, as well as yoga students who want to learn to take care of themselves in class or at home. We will meet every 4 – 8 weeks. You may sign up for one session or several.
Each of the two hour classes is from 1:30 – 3:30 pm and costs $30. Please pre-register.
